privacy policy

the cat is nosy. the extension is not.

last updated: july 15, 2026. this policy covers the mrrpy website and the mrrpy chrome extension.

short version

the extension stores cat settings on your device so the same resident cat can follow your active tab. noticing uses local coarse signals, such as whether a tab is making sound and whether you are typing in an editable field, to choose an animation. it does not collect page content, browsing history, typed text, form input, payment details, or personal data. it does not sell data. it does not run ads.

what the extension stores

the extension uses local chrome storage for Biscuit's settings: enabled or disabled, current mode, window position, popup tab, popup theme, local tuning toggles, and whether noticing is enabled. this data stays in your browser profile and is not sent to mrrpy.

what page access is for

mrrpy runs a content script on normal http and https pages so it can draw the resident cat overlay on the active eligible tab. the script uses the current page url to decide whether that page can host the cat. if noticing is enabled, mrrpy may also use coarse local signals like whether a tab is audible and whether you are typing in an editable field. mrrpy does not store page urls or send them to us.

context-aware behavior

noticing is local and activity-based. the cat may switch to a matching bundled animation when a tab is audibly playing sound or when you sustain a typing rhythm in an editable field. for typing, mrrpy uses event timing, modifier booleans, and whether the target is editable. it does not read key values, typed text, video titles, audio content, search queries, prompts, page text, form fields, messages, or documents.

what we do not collect

we do not collect or transmit your browsing history, page text, screenshots, cookies, account data, passwords, messages, documents, or typed input. the cat may sit on your document. it cannot read it.

sharing

extension data is not sold, rented, shared with advertisers, or shared with data brokers. mrrpy does not use extension data for credit, lending, advertising, or unrelated analytics.

remote code

extension logic and cat art ship inside the extension package. mrrpy does not download executable javascript, wasm, expressions, or plugins.

website and waitlist

the website currently sends waitlist signups to a google form. if you submit that form, mrrpy receives what you provide there and google may process the submission under its own terms. the website does not currently run product analytics.

limited use

the use of information received from google apis will adhere to the chrome web store user data policy, including the limited use requirements.
